Bohol Itinerary: Things to Do and Must Visits with Kids (Philippines)

Looking for fun things to do with kids at Bohol? Here’s a rundown on what we did during our trip!

Our Quick Bohol Trip

My husband and I are on a mission to show the kids how beautiful The Philippines is. So this year, we decided to take a lot of short trips within the country.

One of the places we decided on was Bohol. We spent just 3 days and 2 nights (but hope to visit longer next time!) We hired a driver to take us on a full day tour. Here are some of the places we were able to visit during that short time!*

*Note: These are the places we visited during our second day. The first and last day were just spent at the resort, enjoying the beach and pools. 😉

Cambagat Cave

Before we started the tour, we visited a cave on our own first!

We stayed at a place called Mithi Resort; right by the beach, with gorgeous pools to boot! And get this, they had a cave inside their property! It’s called Cambagat Cave and we went in to explore it.

It was small but really beautiful and the kids had a wonderful time exploring. We really wanted to swim but the guide advised against it since, according to him, it’s full of bat pee and poo. Eep!

After exploring the cave, it was time to wash up and go on our day tour! (More like an afternoon to evening tour since we started around 1pm hehe)

Blood Compact Shrine

Our first stop. This wasn’t even originally really part of itinerary but my husband asked if we could stop by a coffee shop and coincidentally, our driver took us to the coffee shop beside this spot!

It was nice to take a photo here with my eldest since he remembered learning about this in Philippine History. #homeschoollife

Man-Made Forest

Again, this wasn’t really part of our itinerary but our driver passed by this road and encouraged us to take a few snaps before continuing. It’s a nice place but be extra careful since it can get busy.

Tarsier Sanctuary

Something we really wanted to see! Becase how can you travel to Bohol without seeing Tarsiers, right?

We visited the Tarsier Wildlife Sanctuary and was pleasantly surprised with all the tarsiers we saw. The guides were helpful and knowledgeable (about the tarsiers and in taking the best photo angles hahaha)

Chocolate Hills

Next, we visited the Chocolate Hills, Bohol’s most iconic landmark. Our driver took us to the viewpoint at Carmen. You have to climb a lot of steps so FYI for those who have mobility issues.

Firefly Watching at Loay

And lastly, the activity we were most excited about because it’s something we all haven’t done before: firefly watching! 😮 How amazing are these little creatures that God created? Absolutely mesmerising to see and experience in real life. This was the kids’ favorite thing that we did in Bohol!

We took the tour from Rio Verde Floating Restaurant. I just booked via Facebook.

NOTE: We really wanted to do the Loboc River Cruise as well but didn’t really have enough time since they start around 10am all the way to lunch. And that was the time we wanted to visit the caves. But it’s something we look forward to doing next time!

Hiring a Driver for a Day

Highly recommend our driver in Bohol. His name is Alwyn and you can contact him here: +639268390479 or at +639505053523. He was so polite, kind and goes the extra mile. The car was really clean and he was on time.

Please mention I referred you! I don’t get a cut (lol) but I want him to know that I fulfilled my promise of sharing his contact to as many people as I can 😉
