Should You Bring Your Kids to the Dessert Museum?

It’s all over your Instagram feed but it’s mostly the kids-at-heart posting all those photos, am I right? So you might be wondering, is The Dessert Museum really suitable for kids?

I recently got the chance to experience The Dessert Museum with my 3 year old boy and believe me, I know all the questions you moms and dads are thinking of asking! 😉

Q#1: What exactly is The Dessert Museum?

Who would’ve thought that Instagrammable Museums would be a thing? But that’s exactly what The Dessert Museum is! There are 8 different rooms to explore all with different dessert themes. Every corner is Instagrammable.

Guests are divided into batches so that it won’t be overcrowded and to make sure everyone gets their turn taking photos at the installations. It takes approximately 2 hours to go around all the rooms! So be prepared to take a LOT of photos!

So, it’s not really a museum in the traditional sense, but is actually more of an interactive, Instagram-worthy, playground! In short and in all honesty, it was made for people who enjoy having their photos taken!

But ok, what if your kid’s camera shy? Or he doesn’t really get the whole posing-for-photos thing yet?

Q#2: Is there anything else to do, aside from taking photos?

Thankfully, the answer is a big YES!! I was at first also worried about this because although Luke enjoys having his photo taken, I’m pretty sure he’d get bored if that was all we did. So I’m happy to report that the Dessert Museum is really a PLAYGROUND in the most literal sense!

There are slides, swings, see-saws, trampolenes and so many other fun things your little one will enjoy!

There’s even a room where you can run around with balloons for one whole minute. Luke almost cried when we said time was up. He just calmed down when I pointed to him the next room (he saw a lot of bears, so all was well!)

It’s a playground for kids and big kids like mommy! Haha. It’s also a good way to pass the time as you wait for your turn to visit the next room (Yes, because everyone’s divided in batches, you need to wait your turn!)

Q#3: Will my child get a sugar rush?!

Okay, so this is tricky! At the start of the tour, you are given a band, which you can use to claim sweets at designated parts of the museum.

But here’s the catch! Children 3 or below (better ask for the exact age though as I’m not 100% sure) are NOT given bands because they get in free, which means, they also don’t get sweets! Is this a good thing or a bad thing? You decide! Haha.

About the sweets though: don’t expect much; servings are trial size (1 piece of macaron, 1 marshmallow, around 5 pcs of gummy bears, etc.) But they’re good enough! I’m not really into sweets so I might not be the best person to review them! Haha.

Besides, you didn’t come here to eat anyway, right?

Q#4: Any tips? Should I bring anything?

MAJOR TIP: BRING WATER. And here are other tips:

Q#5: How much and where do I book?
