Scandi-Inspired Safari Nursery

New baby, new room! Converted our guest room into a nursery and by God’s grace, we were able to finish just before his arrival.

Take a tour around Dylan’s modern, Scandi-inspired, safari nursery. Have fun!

A Mix of Old and New

Luke, Dylan’s older brother, had a safari nursery as well. But we recently just turned his room into a Lightning McQueen themed one. So we decided to transfer and reuse all the safari elements from his old room to Dylan’s. The giant giraffe, lion head, clock, acrylic shelves and even the plants are all from Luke’s original nursery.

However, it’s not all hand-me-downs! Because we wanted the room to look fresh, we changed the color scheme into black and grey and got him a couple of new additions. The puzzle floor mats for example, are new and it’s from Bonjour Baby. We mixed both their grey and black set to achieve this look. Then we also got Dylan a new elephant soft mat for when he does tummy time next time!

Those patterns on the wall (are they trees or arrows?) are Mor’s labor of love for Dylan. Haha. He measured the distance of each sticker one by one. Not to mention that he did this while climbing up and down a ladder. Dylan, you are loved!

Got the wall stickers from White Walls PH. Same as where I got the stickers for Luke’s Lightning Room and our Homeschool Room.

The name sticker in the middle of the room is also from White Walls PH. It’s actually custom made as I made the design myself and I sent it to White Walls for creation.

Luke’s safari room had a lion and tiger head side by side but I figured the orange color of the tiger was too loud for the room so I just placed the lion this time.

This is his changing area. It’s a built-in TV cabinet and was there when we got the house. But we don’t put TV’s in the rooms (except at our Master’s) so we converted it into his diaper changing area instead.

The Little Details

Didn’t wanna go overboard with all the decor so we chose simple pieces to complement the theme. The night lamp is actually also a wireless charger from Haenim for my breast pump (convenient, right?) I love how it looks very minimalist.

Dylan’s playard is also longer than the average playard. So we had the mattress and sheets custom made from Tiny Winks. Tiny Winks makes really nice mattresses for kids. In fact, we also got them to make a custom one for Luke’s car bed. I love that it’s non-toxic and approved by pediatric therapists. Their premium mattresses come with a water repellent fabric cover and that’s what we got for both boys.

Luke said “Put my picture so people know that’s Dylan’s Ahia” Hehe. Okay, Luke!

Placed a simple, growth chart near his door. And yes, it was intentional and essential (hehe) to get everything in just neutral tones. That includes getting a black Ecomom UV Sterilizer too! Love that the unit looks so sleek!

Can’t Wait To Meet You Dylan!

And there you have it. It’s not a very big room but it’s the perfect size for a new baby. We’re very excited for our little boy to come out and enjoy it! See you very soon, little cub! We’re going to have lots of adventures together, us four!
