Are the kids looking for something to do at home to beat the summer heat?

Here are 5 super easy, healthy smoothies your kids can make on their own (or with you, of course!) I can assure you that they will absolutely love these, because mine did!

1. Hello Yellow

For kids who love their sweets with a little kick, this tasty, lemony drink is for you! It’s a mixture of sweet and sour, soft and crunchy! Add a dash of cinnamon too (great for oral health and can even help in cough and colds!) and you’re ready to go.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Squeeze lemon.
  2. Add the pineapple, banana, milk, water and cinnamon powder together in the blender. Blend!
  3. Pour mixture into glass.
  4. Top it off with crushed Graham crackers and a sachet of Bifina.

2. Summer Sunshine

Perfect for a hot summer day, this cooler is a sure to brighten up the day! Your little helper will enjoy whipping up this drink (especially with all the bright fruity colors!)

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Squeeze lemon and orange.
  2. Add the water, banana, Java Turmeric powder and Pomegranate Peel powder together in the blender. Blend!
  3. Pour mixture into glass.

3. Very Berry

If you can get a hold of frozen berries, you’ll wanna make this smoothie! Blueberries are considered a superfood because they have a variety of health benefits. For kids, they help in bone health, blood circulation and even helps improve eyesight! It’s super easy to make too.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Add everything together in the blender. Blend! (Easy, right?!)
  2. Pour mixture into glass.

3. Morning Boost

Looking for a morning boost? This smoothie is perfect to pair with your favorite toast for breakfast! The probiotic granules add to the unique texture that your kiddos will enjoy.

Bonus tidbit: Turmeric is actually good for asthmatic children because it’s anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic. Welcome!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Prepare oats in a separate mug: If you have instant oats, add hot water and stir.
  2. Add the banana, apple, oats mixture, powders and water in a blender and blend.
  3. Pour mixture into glass.
  4. Top it off with 1 sachet of Bifina.

5. Chunky Monkey

Show me a kid who doesn’t love peanut butter and bananas! All your little monkeys will LOVE this drink. And if you have a little one struggling with eating their veggies, we’re adding Moringa powder to this mix so they can get the vitamins and nutrients they need (without their knowing it!)

Warning: Beware of any nut allergies before you try this.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Add the banana, peanut butter, powders, milk and water in a blender and blend.
  2. Pour mixture into glass.
  3. Top it off with cacao nibs!

I love using the extract powders from Herbilogy even for the kids because they are 100% extracts, are super fine, without added sugar, dyes, flavorings, MSG, preservatives or chemicals. It’s also an easy way to make the smoothies even healthier, without the kids knowing it! 😉
