Spent 2 nights and 3 days to enjoy one of Clark’s latest hotels: Swissotel Clark! Here’s how we, as a family of 4 (with 2 young kids,) enjoyed our stay!
Swissotel Clark
Swissotel Clark is an international five star hotel located in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. We love visiting Pampanga for the activities so it was important to make sure we book a comfortable stay during this quick trip!
And Swissotel did not disappoint!
The Room
We stayed at the Swiss Advantage Room with 1 King Bed. It was very spacious, clean and modern. The towel animals were such a nice touch for the kids! 😉
For bed configuration: my husband and I slept in the bed with our almost 4 year old. Then we moved the sofa close to the bed, asked for extra blankets and sheets, and that’s where my 7 year old stayed. He honestly said it was one of the “best beds” he has ever tried because it was so cozy. Haha. It was the perfect size for him!
Special touch: Love the wireless charging dock! Super convenient in case you forget to bring your chargers. For reference, it worked well on my iPhone.
Glass window on one side of the bathroom! The kids loved this feature haha. But don’t worry, you can easily close the blinds for some privacy when taking a bath!
Bathroom was vary spacious! For those coming in with young kids, I recommend bringing a small portable step stool so kids can easily reach the sink.
And surprise! The staff knew we were coming with kids so they left us a cookie decorating kit!! Dylan was smitten! He’s in a Paw Patrol stage so all the doggie themed cookies were just perfect! They also gave us coloring kits to use during our stay.
Here’s a tip: You can call and inform them in advance that you will be traveling with kids. I was told that if it were requested, they would happily provide activities for their little guests.
The Pool
Are you fan of heated pools? We are! I can’t stand freezing cold pools. Haha. And we are happy to report that Swissotel’s pool is heated!
However, disclaimer: the water temperature did not get very warm. Though I felt warm water jetting out from the pool floor, the overall pool water temperature was lukewarm (which was personally just right, if you ask me!)
Don’t forget to order food from Swisstropic for the best poolside experience. We had nachos (off the menu, so good!) and a couple of drinks. Mor and I went for the Pina Collada and Mojito, hehe. The kids had a choco milkshake! It’s a vacation, after all! 😉
My kids couldn’t get enough of the pool at Swissotel Clark. So we just had to come back for it again on our last day, before checking out!
This time, I opted out of swimming and just sat by the pool to read. I ordered the Asian Salad and an iced latte. Now this is my kind of vacation. Hehe. 😉
Back to swimming! Highly recommend swimming during sunset, because the view is just gorgeous!
You can also go for a night swim. The ambience is different and makes for a unique experience!
Dinner at Markt
On our first evening, we decided to try out Swissotel’s main restaurant: Markt.
Markt is an open-plan, plaza-style restaurant. There are different themed stations where you can order from. All you have to do is give them your table number and food will be served to you. Note that dinner here is ala carte and not buffet style.
(But hold on. Because this is also where breakfast is held and breakfast is a buffet, but more on that later!)
Our list of must-try’s:
- Stobhack Gaelach: Irish Beef Stew, tastes so much better than it looks! (far left on the photo)
- Raclette (of, course!): A traditional swedish dish where cheese is melted and scraped over potatoes and veggies. A favorite of the kids.
- New York Angus Ribeye
- aaaand… don’t forget the GELATO!
The boys each tried a flavor, so we had chocolate, misu garu (toasted rice!) and blueberry. And every single one that we tried was absolutely heavenly.
If you are a chocolate fan, you have to try that because it’s so rich and creamy! But my personal favorite is the Misu Garu! Just the right amount of sweetness and it was not overpowering. My kind of dessert!
Breakfast at Markt
Breakfast buffet at Swissotel Clark was held at Markt. Great selection with all the usual breakfast favorites.
Worth mentioning that there was a Lechon Belly station (!!!) on our first morning! How fun is that?
Our list of must-try’s:
- Scotch Eggs or the Eggs Benedict, both were good
- The crispiest bacon you have ever tried, I promise!!! Consistent too, as they were crispy on both mornings that we ate there!!
Overall Thoughts
A beautiful, modern, five star hotel really worth the visit. The kids’ new favorite at Clark (we have tried other properties in the area!) and we will definitely come back again the next time we’re in Clark.
- Rooms were very spacious and I love that the bathrooms were spacious as well.
- Food was definitely a highlight. Please don’t skip dessert!
- Pool was definitely a winner. We came back for it twice during our 2 night stay!
- Worth noting: Service was EXCELLENT. Every single person was friendly and genuinely caring! We felt right at home so kudos to the staff!

April 23, 2023 at 10:26 amSwissotel Clark is a good place to stay, other than management needs to check atleast every quarter some areas like sink clogging, sink areas underneath the tile, shower room cleaning (especially the top areas with stains, shower water hot and cold problems. There were times that we had to run the water for minutes just to get hot shower (which is a waste of water). There are plenty of staff that are helpful. There are some menus that needs to be relooked into and some don’t have a taste to it. Nasi restaurant needs to have a better customer service. Many times they forget the drinks you order (remind them over and over) and the last time we finished eating without our drinks being served. The elevator guys needs a stool to seat on because standing up the whole day is tiring too. Don’t only think of the customers but your employees as well because they play a big important part of your business. Sending this as a compliment for some “room” for improvements and not to criticize. Continue your good service.
