My youngest is now more than a year old but I still want to continue breastfeeding until he’s at least 2! My milk supply has been dwindling though so I thought it was time to take matters into my own hands. 😉
I whipped up some yummy lactation smoothies and drinks on my own using natural galactagogues (substances that promote lactation) These are very easy to make and when I say easy, they really are haha (I’m the worst at the kitchen!)
Hope these help you on your breastfeeding journey! Keep feeding, momma!
Homemade Lactation Milk Tea
Let’s start with my favorite and surprisingly the simplest one to make! If you’re a milk tea lover, you’ll love this!
Ingredients:
- 1 Herbilogy Breastfeeding Tea Bag
- 1 cup of milk (more or less, depending on preference)
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- Ice cubes
Directions:
- Put tea bag into the cup, pour boiling water and wait 2-3 minutes.
- Add milk and a teaspoon of honey, to taste
- Add lots of ice cubes for a refreshing drink!
PB+BB Breakfast Smoothie
Now, how about a fan favorite? Everybody loves Peanut Butter with Bananas but we’ll be adding our own little blueberry twist.
Ingredients:
- 1 piece of Banana
- 8-10 pieces of Blueberries
- 1 teaspoonful of Peanut Butter (can adjust, to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Herbilogy Fenugreek Powder
- 1 teaspoon Herbilogy Sweet Leaf Powder
Directions:
- Just throw everything in a blender!
- Add more water or milk, to taste.
Told you my recipes are going to be easy!
Summer Watermelon Cooler
And lastly, how about a refreshing drink in the afternoon? It’s always a good time to have a wonderful watermelon cooler especially during the summer months!
Ingredients:
- 1-2 slices of watermelon
- 1 teaspoon of Herbilogy Rosella Powder
- 1 teaspoon of Herbilogy Fenugreek Powder
- Ice cubes!
Directions:
- Just blend all the ingredients together and add ice cubes in the end
- Ta-da! 😉
Matcha Moringa Latte
If you’re a matcha-lovah, you will love this. This is a wonderful drink to start with in the morning.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of Herbilogy Matcha Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of Herbilogy Moringa Powder
- 1 cup of Milk
- Herbilogy Cinnamon Powder and/or honey (optional but recommended if you don’t like it bitter)
Directions:
- Dissolve 1 teaspoon of Herbilogy Matcha Powder and 1/2 taspoon of Herbilogy Moringa Powder in warm water
- Add 1 cup of warm milk
- Sprinkle Herbilogy Cinnamon Powder and/or add honey, to taste
Strawberry Banana Oat-licious Drink
Oats are great galactagogues but it’s easy to get tired of plain oats, am I right? So when that happens, try this delicious blend instead!
Ingredients:
- 3 pieces of Strawberries
- 1 piece of Banana
- 1 Cup Milk (or Almond Milk)
- Oats (I used instant oats for this)
- Herbilogy Fenugreek Powder
- Herbilogy Cinnamon Powder
Directions:
- Prepare oats separately: If you’re using instant oats like me, just add hot water and stir
- Blend oats mixture together with the rest of the ingredients
- Add ice!

I love using the extract powders from Herbilogy because they are 100% extracts, are super fine, without added sugar, dyes, flavorings, MSG, preservatives or chemicals. I also love that they have a whole range of powders that help promote lactation!! Isn’t that amazing?
