We love a good Filipino meal so it’s no surprise that we thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday Fiesta experience at Sheraton Manila! It felt a little nostalgic as I tried a lot of my childhood favorites. At the same time, it was also an exciting culinary adventure as I enjoyed classic Filipino dishes with a unique twist!
Sheraton Manila’s Sunday Fiesta
Sunday Fiesta happens at Sheraton Manila’s S Kitchen every Sunday from 12 nn to 3 p.m. Feast on a glorious spread of your favorite Filipino dishes! We had a scrumptious lunch before we checked-in for a staycation (more on that next!) and it was the perfect start to a wonderful stay!
Here are our top picks:
1. Bicol Express Pasta
The chef’s pick and my number one pick is the Bicol Express pasta. Different from your usual pasta dish, this coconut-based delight has just the right amount of spiciness to give you that extra kick! You HAVE to try this.
2. Fresh Crab: Paluto Station
Crab lovers, rejoice! They have fresh crab available and you can have it cooked in many different ways.
Our favorite was a simple classic, cooked in garlic butter sauce.
3. Pampano: Paluto Station
Fresh pampano cooked perfectly! Doesn’t get any better than this.
4. All kinds of Lechon
And if you’re a lechon kind of person, you’ll love the wide selection they have. They even have lechon stuffed with paella!
My favorite was the Cebuchon and Lechon de Leche. Very crispy and very tasty!
5. Adobo sa Gata Suso
Personally did not try this but this is my husband’s favorite. Snail with coconut milk. Mor assures me it’s really delicious! Hehe.
6. Fresh Lumpia (on-the-go!)
One unique offer at the Sunday Fiesta is their lumpia cart on-the-go.
Enjoy fresh lumpia made for you on the spot!
7. Palamig
No meal is complete without refreshments! And the good news is, unlike a lot of buffets, these “palamig” drinks are included in the buffet! (Try the melon if you want something light and refreshing!)
8. Filipino Desserts
I was trying to decide which of the desserts to include in this list but I couldn’t decide so I just pooled them all together for the #8 spot! 😀
All your favorite Filipino desserts are here: halo-halo, turon, palitaw, sapin-sapin, buko salad and more!
You can also try fun items like the ube cheesecake, kape barako roll and ube pastillas!
And don’t forget the ice cream! They have calamansi sorbet and guyabano! Yum!
